B.A. in Information Technology

Overview

This program is a multidisciplinary program; it includes a study of computer engineering, business, accounting, economics, communication, and telecommunication engineering. The principles, concepts, and skills necessary for successful professionalism in information technology are provided. It will enable the student to acquire essential computer skills, communication skills, and training in practical affairs in business. The student can witness the Gospel by utilizing computer technology and promoting ethics in the cyber world. Our mission is to prepare outstanding computer professionals to take leadership positions to advance the work of God in this rapidly changing technological world.

We offer two concentrations.

  • B.A. in Information Technology General

  • B.A. in Information Technology Digital Design

What can I do with this degree?

 For IT general, there are 4 functions you can expect after graduation

        

  • Systems analysis

  • Web and mobile development

  • Database design

  • Cybersecurity principles

 

For IT-Design

         Students who want to pair their artistic disposition with their computer skills should investigate a Bachelor in IT Design. With a degree in digital design, students can hone their design skills and learn the tricks of the trade to create a successful career in the creative industry. The number of career options available to students with a Bachelor's in IT Design is impressive. Students can opt for a career in the motion picture and video field and work as animators, or they can choose to enter the business world and work with companies. Most digital design professionals in the business fieldwork with marketing and advertising departments to meet companies' needs. They also work with software publishers and public relations firms.

What are the degree outcomes?

Upon completion of this program students will:​

  • Acquire technical skills in programming and technology troubleshooting.

  • Recommend, select, and service software/ hardware systems that meet the unique information technology needs of an organization.

  • Work both independently and cooperatively to meet the technology goals of the organization.

  • Comprehend the theoretical and applied uses of information technology in various business applications for problem-solving.

  • Apply knowledge and skills in system analysis and design, network design and administration, database design and development, operating systems, software and web application development, and IT security

What unique experiences or opportunities will I have? 

  • For IT General: Advance IT knowledge and earn one of the most in-demand bachelor’s degrees with a curriculum that includes courses in programming, software development, information systems, database development, computer networking, operating systems, and more.

  • For IT-Design: During their time in the program, students are encouraged to explore context and form, typography, image-making, photography, and interactive digital media. Within their programs, students have the option of specializing and developing their skills and ambitions.

Bethesda is a great school because the count of students in classrooms allows you to have the ability to talk to the professor when I didn't understand something in the classroom. All my professors have been very interesting and welcoming. Staff members are friendly and helpful
